The Paradise Island Pirates stopped the Lumber Kings, 5-3, at Predator Park. The Pirates got a big game from Steve Pyles, who went 3-4 with 3 singles. Paradise Island reliever Aaron Arnett picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jesús Cruz took the loss. Even with the win, the Pirates have a dismal 14-34 record.

Pyles had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Jesús Cruz, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Pirates a 4-3 lead. It was the 15th hit of the year for Pyles.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Pyles.
