Larvae Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Cardinals
|
With right fielder Ben Gleason leading the charge, the The Stinging Larvae defeated the Montreal Cardinals, 6-5, at The Queen. Gleason, who is tied for 9th in the CFL in bases on balls with 19, went 2 for 2 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Carlos Ruíz, credited with the win, is now 4-1. He allowed 5 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings. The Larvae bumped their record to 23-23 with this latest triumph.
Alfonso Santos aided the The Stinging cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with a double.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gleason.
