Grognards Topple Bombers as Nozawa Shines
|
Yasuhide Nozawa made an impact in the 8-3 St. Paul win over Panana City. Nozawa, who is tied for 8th in the CFL in stolen bases with 8, went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. St. Paul, at 22-24, sits in 5th place in the Cecil Fielder League Otto Velez Division.
With St. Paul leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Nozawa hit a cutter from Miguel Ramirez for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Grognards ahead, 3-0.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Nozawa said.
