In a low-scoring clash between Yuma and Rosewell, pitcher Nick Buonanno was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Yuma in the 2-1 win. The Varmits bumped their record to 24-22 with this latest triumph.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when designated hitter Adam Champagne drew a walk. The Varmits went on to win.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Buonanno said.
