Multi-HR Day for Pruitt as Grognards Overpower Larvae, 7-2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 21-year old right fielder Chris Pruitt, the St. Paul Grognards stopped the The Stinging Larvae, 7-2. The Grognards saw their win-loss record go to 20-23. At the same time, the Larvae fell to 21-22.
Pruitt contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for St. Paul in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Pruitt took a fastball from Bob Campos and stroked the home run to center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Grognards to leap in front, 3-1.
"We'll savor this win," Pruitt told the St. Paul Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
