Evans Slugs Sabercats to 7-3 Win
|
The Sedona Sabercats topped the Paradise Island Pirates, 7-3, in Cecil Fielder League action at Predator Park. The player of the game was Sedona third baseman Phil Evans. Sergio Solis got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 3 runs on 13 hits in 9 innings. The first-place Sabercats have a one-game lead in their division.
Evans had a key at-bat for Sedona early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and gave Sedona an early 2-0 lead.
"We've got a great group of guys," Evans said, "and we're having fun right now."
