Hops Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Sasquatch

Sick's Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the San Diego Hops and the Seattle Sasquatch.
The San Diego Hops defeated the Seattle Sasquatch, 6-5, at Sick's Stadium today. Leading the charge for San Diego was catcher Addy de Zeeuw. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. San Diego reliever Nick Henneberry picked up the win to move to 1-0. Kirk Redman suffered the loss. Juan Vázquez earned his 4th save in 4 chances.
de Zeeuw had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 fastball from Kirk Redman, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Hops a 6-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for de Zeeuw.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Seattle manager Carl Best. "But we decided not to take it."
With the win over Seattle, the Hops improved to 29-66.
