Storm Come Up Short at Montreal
|
The Montreal Cardinals had to overcome a big game from Wichita catcher Reilly Corkum to leave Denis Coderre Stadium with a 6-5 victory. Corkum was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Pete Murphy sewed up the save, his 15th. Montreal is now 27-15, 3 games up in the Cecil Fielder League Otto Velez Division.
Robby Santillan, who is tied for 5th in the CFL in RBI with 32, chipped in for Montreal with a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
