The St. Paul Grognards defeated the Wichita Storm, 9-4, at The Storm Center. St. Paul designated hitter Luis Silva was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 1-1 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. St. Paul reliever Cruz Miguel picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Yutaka Sasaki absorbed the loss. The Grognards raised their record to 18-20.

The most important at-bat for St. Paul came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Peter Southern reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs, putting St. Paul up, 6-4.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Southern told the St. Paul Daily News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
