Sabercats Rally For Late Win Over Nutcrackers
|
Sedona Sabercats starter Ruben Fernandez was in fine form against the Normal Nutcrackers at The Lair at Sabercat Field, leading his team to a 4-2 win. In 8 innings, Fernandez surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. Mike Foust recorded the save for Sedona, his 2nd of the season.
The Sabercats got a big at-bat from second baseman Mike Pope. For the game, Pope was 1 for 3 with a walk. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 61st hit of the season gave Sedona a 1-0 lead.
"I like our moxie," said Sabercats manager Edgardo Bautista.
The Sabercats have an impressive 24-14 record.
