Storm Win at Rosewell, 5-3

The Wichita Storm knocked off the Rosewell Tribbles, 5-3, at Classified Field. Rob Kirkland, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Wichita won. The designated hitter went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Yutaka Sasaki picked up the save, his 7th. The Storm have an impressive 22-13 record.
Had Reilly Corkum not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Corkum hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Storm.
"We've got a great group of guys," Kirkland said, "and we're having fun right now."
