Pyles Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Paradise Island in Walk-Off Win
|
The Rosewell Tribbles got a superb performance from pitcher Cesar Prado. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Paradise Island. The Pirates won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Prado was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Paradise Island reliever Matt Fernandez was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Rey Luera took the loss. Even with the win, the Pirates have a dismal 8-26 record.
Paradise Island won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Rey Luera on the mound for Rosewell, center fielder Steve Pyles hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Pirates fans to their feet.
"We had a chance to win," said Rosewell manager Anthony Mays, "but we didn't get it done."
