Pirates Win at Panana City, 5-1
|
Paradise Island starter Iwane Kanda had a strong outing against the Panana City Bombers at Donald J. Trump Presidential Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-1 win. Kanda got the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. Kanda allowed 1 earned run. Even with the win, the Pirates have a dismal 6-25 record.
David de la Rosa, who is tied for 7th in the CFL in doubles with 7, aided the Paradise Island cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," de la Rosa said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
