The The Stinging Larvae racked up a win at The Queen, bumping off the Sedona Sabercats, 4-1. Bob Campos, who started for The Stinging, pitched effectively for his team. Campos went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-3. Vince Johnson finished the game for The Stinging and earned his 3rd save.
The Larvae got a big at-bat from left fielder Jared Bennett. For the game, Bennett was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave The Stinging a 2-0 lead.
"We'll try to build on that win," Bennett told the The Stinging Gazette.
Even with the win, the Larvae have a dismal 5-11 record.
