Kings Win at Normal, 9-8

Normal got a terrific performance from catcher Jeff Henson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Lumber Kings. Lumber won the The Nutcracker Suite contest, 9-8. Henson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Lumber reliever Jose Ramirez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jerry Rios. The Nutcrackers drop to 5-8 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2033 season.
Hiroshi Kajiwara, who is tied for 3rd in the CFL in doubles with 4, aided the Lumber cause with a 2-run double in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Kajiwara told the Lumber Bulletin.
