|
Victoria withstood an impressive performance by Paradise Island third baseman Satomi Takano to defeat the Pirates, 7-5, at Predator Park. Takano went 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The winner was Victoria reliever Barney Archer, now 1-2. The loser was Kevin Neily. The win takes Victoria to 6-5.
The Totems got a big at-bat from third baseman Jake Bell. For the game, Bell was 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Victoria a 4-0 lead.
"I felt good up there," said Bell. "I saw the ball well."
