Fans who gathered at Epic Park saw a good contest between the Lumber Kings and Victoria Totems.
The Lumber Kings defeated the Victoria Totems, 5-3, in Cecil Fielder League action at Epic Park, with Lumber pitcher Marty Stephens named player of the game. Stephens, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Jordan Garner got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Landen Jarman hit a 2-run double off Barney Archer in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Kings in front, 3-1. In addition to the double, Jarman had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"I felt good up there," said Jarman. "I saw the ball well."
The win pushes Lumber to a record of 3-4.
