The Wichita Storm got a stellar performance from pitcher Bobby Lloyd, who handcuffed the St. Paul offense en route to a 8-2 win at The Thunderdome. Lloyd went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. Wichita, now 6-1, has played well in the early going.

Shane Appel aided the Wichita cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
