The Montreal Cardinals beat the Paradise Island Pirates, 8-5, at Predator Park. Montreal catcher Gene Reilley earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Pete Murphy got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The loss drops Paradise Island to 0-7.

Reilley had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the second inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Cardinals went on to win.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Reilley. "And not try to do too much."
