Brett Ferrell knocked in 7 runs to help St. Paul beat Paradise Island, 11-3. Ferrell produced 1 single and 2 home runs. Geoff Baxter picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 1-0. Jason Ball got credit for the save for St. Paul. It was his 1st of the year.

Ferrell had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-1 fastball from Hideaki Nakayama, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Grognards a 5-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Ferrell.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ferrell. "And not try to do too much."

St. Paul, now 5-0, has gotten their season off to a good start.
