Multi-HR Game for Burge in 6-5 Win
|
The Normal Nutcrackers bested the Montreal Cardinals by a score of 6-5, with designated hitter Mike Burge getting the main credit. On the day, Burge was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Nutcrackers. David Vince finished to wrap up his 1st save. Normal, now 2-3, is off to a slow start.
Burge had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 changeup from Pete Murphy, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Nutcrackers a 6-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Burge.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Burge.
