Varmits Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Yuma Varmits ushered in the 2033 season with a win versus the The Stinging Larvae at The Range. The final score was 1-0. Starting Pitcher Nick Buonanno was named player of the game. Reliever Chris Wilson picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ron Andrews took the loss.
The Varmits got a big at-bat from right fielder Yashpal Rob. For the game, Rob went 2-5 with 2 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the 13th, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 2nd hit of the season gave Yuma a 1-0 lead.
"We put together a nice win," Buonanno said.
