Cyclones Win Thriller, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring clash between Brooklyn and Framingham, pitcher Alex Figueroa was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Brooklyn in the 2-1 win. Brooklyn reliever John Swope picked up the win to move to 1-2. Tony Velasquez suffered the loss. Brooklyn goes to 30-40, Framingham to 22-48.
Jeff Ferrick was the walk-off hero for Brooklyn. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cyclones left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Figueroa said after the game.
