Fighting Camels Best Cyclones in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Framingham Fighting Camels and the Brooklyn Cyclones, Mike Weschler was the difference-maker. The Framingham right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-0 win. Eddie Lara was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 4 save opportunities. Even with the win, the Fighting Camels have a dismal 21-47 record.
Framingham used the timely hitting of Jose Torres to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Fighting Camels on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Enjoyed this one," Weschler told the Framingham Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
