Bomberos Raise Rally Flag, Beat Union, 5-2
|
The El Paso Bomberos got a stellar performance from pitcher Yorinobu Kern, who handcuffed the Union offense en route to a 5-2 win at Poters Field. El Paso reliever Kyle Lanthier picked up the win to move to 3-3. Ryan Wise suffered the loss. The Bomberos bumped their record to 36-34 with this latest triumph.
Ramon Abreu, who is tied for 8th in the PFL in total bases with 124, aided the El Paso cause with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the catcher went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Kern said after the game.
