Bomberos Lose 4-3 Decision to Farmers
|
The Union Farmers and El Paso Bomberos played an exciting game at Poters Field.
The Union Farmers eked out a 4-3 win versus the El Paso Bomberos at Poters Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Fidel Castro, who captured player of the game honors. In 7.1 innings, Castro surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 4. He allowed 3 runs. Ryan Wise was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
Manny Rodriguez aided the Union cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop went 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Enjoyed this one," Castro told the Union News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Even with the win, the Farmers have a dismal 23-45 record.
