|
The Caribbean Commies knocked off the Barbados Revenge, 5-3, at The Drunken Wench Stadium. Wijnand Streefland was named player of the game for Caribbean. He hit 1 single and 2 doubles, while driving in 1 runs. Caribbean starter Graham Bennett was credited with the win after throwing 85 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-4. The Commies sit in third place in the Prince Fielder League John Mayberry Division with a record of 31-39.
Jerry Swope, who is tied for 10th in the PFL in triples with 3, helped out the Caribbean cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the shortstop drew 2 walks in 5 trips to the plate. He scored 2 runs.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Swope. "And not try to do too much."
