Victory Pushes Bomberos Record to 34-32
|
El Paso right fielder Cole Capone was instrumental in his team's 7-1 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones. Capone, who is tied for 8th in the PFL with a .563 slugging percentage, went 2-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bomberos. The Bomberos bumped their record to 34-32 with this latest triumph.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the third, with El Paso trailing 1-0, Ramon Abreu was at the plate when El Paso scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Bomberos to go in front, 2-1.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said El Paso manager Yoshida Nakao.
