|
Tom Miles left his imprint on the 8-5 Caribbean win against the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas. Miles was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. Luis Santana earned the win for Caribbean. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-5. Jose Laracuente converted his 17th save in 19 tries.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Miles hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Commies into the lead, 1-0.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Miles told the Caribbean Gazette.
At 29-36, Caribbean is in third place in the Prince Fielder League John Mayberry Division.
