Farmers Bang Out 6-1 Win Versus Framingham
|
Getting a good performance from third baseman Rufino Cortez, the Union Farmers defeated the Framingham Fighting Camels, 6-1. Cortez went 2 for 2 with a double and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Farmers. Even with the win, the Farmers have a dismal 16-37 record.
Cortez had a key at-bat for Union early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and gave Union an early 3-1 lead.
Cortez told a Union News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
