Revenge Score Late to Upend Fighting Iguanas, 3-0
|
The game between Barbados and Boca Raton is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Barbados Revenge topped the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 3-0, in Prince Fielder League action at Scripps Field. The player of the game was Barbados pitcher and Buenos Aires, Costa Rica native Mike Huerta. Barbados reliever Marco Cruz was the winner. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Rudy Brisson.
Barbados used the timely hitting of Bob Hern to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Revenge on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This was a good win for us," said Huerta. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The Revenge own a robust 33-17 mark.
