Bomberos Lose, 3-2, at Castro Field
|
The Caribbean Commies reigned over the El Paso Bomberos in damp conditions at Castro Field.
El Paso pitcher Francisco Trevino gave the Commies all they could handle, but in the end, Caribbean left Castro Field with a 3-2 win. Trevino allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits over 6 innings. Caribbean reliever Tom Best picked up the win to move to 6-1. Kyle Lanthier suffered the loss. Jose Laracuente saved it for Caribbean.
Had Orlando Sanchez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Sanchez hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Commies.
"It feels good to get this one," Sanchez told the Caribbean Gazette.
El Paso has now lost 7 consecutive games.
