Rail Riders Squelch Farmers Offense in Shutout Win
The Augusta Rail Riders picked up a win at Murderer's Row, knocking off the Union Farmers, 4-0. Starting pitcher Gabriel Renteria, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 8 innings, Renteria surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Brian Mullins picked up the save for Augusta, his 2nd of the year.

The Rail Riders had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 4-0, Augusta, with one out. Union, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Bob Robles dug in at the plate, but on a 3-1 sinker, he hit into a double play.

Augusta now sits in third place in the Prince Fielder League John Mayberry Division at 23-26.
