Cyclones Continue Skid Thanks to Hernández, KO
|
Long Beach catcher Francisco Hernández made his presence felt in the 7-3 KO triumph over the Brooklyn Cyclones. Hernández went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Long Beach reliever Scott Horton got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Alex Figueroa was tagged with the loss. The Cyclones, at 22-26, have lost 7 straight games.
Long Beach took a 6-1 lead on Hernández's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Vincente Corona in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Long Beach to the win.
Hernández called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
