Rail Riders Top Scorpions Behind Viesca, 5-2
|
Augusta turned a good effort from starter Juan Viesca into a win over the Scottsdale Scorpions at Scottsdale Stadium. The final score was 5-2. The Rail Riders, now at 16-20, know that wins in February count the same as wins in September.
Viesca, the winner, is now 3-4 after putting the clamps on the Scottsdale offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while collecting 5 Ks.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Augusta manager Ralph Oakes.
