The Cyclones had to overcome a good performance from El Paso pitcher Josh Butler to claim a 5-1 win at Vin Scully Park. Butler went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Brooklyn leads the Prince Fielder League John Mayberry Division by 2˝ games.
Brooklyn took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, center fielder Pedro Vázquez hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Brooklyn manager Alex Romero.
