Scorpions Bang Out 8-6 Win Versus Boca Raton
The Scottsdale Scorpions and Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas completed their game despite the rain.

The Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 8-6, at Scottsdale Stadium today. Leading the charge for Scottsdale was first baseman Omar Vargas. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Scottsdale reliever Dean Hatfield was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Rudy Brisson took the loss for Boca Raton.

The Scorpions got a big at-bat from designated hitter Curt Mayle. For the game, Mayle went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Scottsdale a 4-3 lead.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Vargas.

Even with the win, the Scorpions have a dismal 10-20 record.
