Scorpions Win at Union, 7-2
|
Union second baseman Jesus Cano was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Scottsdale beat the Farmers, 7-2. Cano was named the player of the game despite the loss. The win boosts the Scorpions to 7-17. The loss puts the Farmers at 6-18.
The Scorpions got a big at-bat from catcher Manny Urbina. For the game, Urbina went 1-4 with a hit by pitch, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 7th hit of the season gave Scottsdale a 3-1 lead.
In postgame comments, Urbina told the Scottsdale Citizen: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
