Scorpions Win at Union, 5-2
|
The 2033 season is getting ugly for Union.
Scottsdale right fielder Salvador Cruz was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the Union Farmers. Cruz, who is tied for 4th in the PFL in RBI with 20, went 3-5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Scorpions. The winner was Nelson Ramirez in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Perry Groenendijk took the loss.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the top of the fourth inning. That's when third baseman Curt Mayle drew a walk. The Scorpions went on to win.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Mayle. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
Even with the win, the Scorpions have a dismal 6-17 record.
