The Long Beach KO dealt the Caribbean Commies a 3-2 loss at Castro Field. John Boughner was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs. Yonetoshi Morikawa picked up the save for Long Beach, his 2nd of the year. The KO bumped their record to 13-12 with this latest triumph.

Boughner had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball from Roberto Pacheco, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the KO a 3-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Boughner.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Boughner.
