Big Day for Osuna as Commies Down KO, 8-4
|
The Caribbean Commies defeated the Long Beach KO, 8-4, at Castro Field. Caribbean catcher Salvador Osuna was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Caribbean reliever Alex Garrastazu picked up the win to move to 3-1. António Aguilar suffered the loss. Jose Laracuente earned the save, his 9th, for the Commies.
Orlando Sanchez contributed to the Caribbean win with a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Osuna.
With the win, Caribbean goes to 12-11, while the KO fall to 11-12.
