Rail Riders Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Fighting Iguanas
|
The Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas got a superb performance from pitcher Eddy Johnston. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Augusta. The Rail Riders won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Johnston was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Devon Labonte closed it out for his 6th save. The Rail Riders bumped their record to 11-10 with this latest triumph.
Sergio Ferrer, who is tied for 3rd in the PFL in stolen bases with 4, chipped in for Augusta with a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
Ferrer attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
