Commies Solve Rangers, 6-3
|
The Caribbean Commies topped the Rockville Rangers, 6-3, with left fielder Jorge Cardenas playing a big role. Cardenas went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Commies in the win. The save went to Jose Laracuente, his 8th this season. Caribbean now sits in second place in the Prince Fielder League John Mayberry Division at 11-9.
Jerry Swope hit a 2-run double off Max Hageman in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Commies in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Swope had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
Cardenas said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.
