The Suenos faced a stiff challenge from Barbados pitcher Ethan Harris, but persevered to claim a win at Dream Park. The final score was 3-1. Harris went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. The Suenos bumped their record to 8-7 with this latest triumph.
The Suenos got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Tony Garza. For the game, Garza was 1-1. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Santa Barbara a 2-1 lead.
In comments to the Santa Barbara Chronicle, Garza admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
