Bomberos Roll to 10-1 Win Over Scorpions
|
The El Paso Bomberos relied on the hitting of center fielder Danny Lowe to stop the Scottsdale Scorpions, 10-1. For the game, Lowe went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Carlos Vela, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Scorpions to 1 earned run on 1 hit over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The Bomberos, now 9-3, have hit the ground running this season.
Ramon Abreu aided the El Paso cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Feels good to get the job done," Abreu said after the game.
