|
The Santa Barbara Suenos defeated the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 7-5, at Scripps Field today. Leading the charge for Santa Barbara was shortstop Manuel Armenta. He went 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Eric Sauer, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 12 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 2-0. Ricky Alvarado, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
Manuel Arelino aided the Santa Barbara cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the third. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Arelino.
The Fighting Iguanas fall to 5-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2033 season.
