Fighting Camels Lose, 7-4, at Castro Field
|
The Caribbean Commies relied on the hitting of designated hitter Orlando Sanchez to stop the Framingham Fighting Camels, 7-4. For the game, Sanchez was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Caribbean reliever Frank Patton was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Gohta Yamashiro took the loss for Framingham. Jose Laracuente recorded his 4th save for Caribbean.
Sanchez contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Caribbean in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, Sanchez took a slider from Gohta Yamashiro and stroked the double to center. His 3rd double of the season allowed the Commies to leap in front, 4-3.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Sanchez.
The Fighting Camels fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 2033 season.
