Rockville got a terrific performance from designated hitter Jonathan Weidlich, but it wasn't enough to beat the Brooklyn Cyclones. Brooklyn won the Brewbaker Memorial Stadium contest, 4-1. Weidlich was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. Brooklyn reliever Mike Crawford was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Eddy Gil took the loss for Rockville. Brooklyn, now 10-3, has played well in the early going.

Gil Perez helped out the Brooklyn cause in the top of the seventh inning with a bases-clearing double. For the game, the catcher went 1-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Brooklyn manager Alex Romero.
