Marauders Clip Pioneers in Tight Contest
A nice crowd turned out to see the Maple Marauders and Vancouver Pioneers clash at "The Fort" at B.C. Place.

Maple right-hander Paul Barrett made an effective start against the Vancouver Pioneers at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, leading his team to a 9-3 win. Maple has an impressive 62-27 record.

Tokutomi Kogawa, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Maple cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 1.

In postgame comments to the Maple Citizen, Kogawa said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
