Almost There: San Angelo On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 9-8 Win
The San Angelo Mustangs moved to within one game of the Single A World Series today, downing the visiting Okanagan Lake Monsters at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium by a score of 9-8. Mustangs designated hitter Manuel Infante was named player of the game after he was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. The win gives the Mustangs a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Single A League Championship.

In the bottom of the third inning, first baseman Orlando Talamantez came through big-time for the Mustangs. With San Angelo leading 2-1, he belted a 2-run home run.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said San Angelo manager Clyde Bowman.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium in San Angelo. The scheduled starters for the game are Tyrone Mason for Okanagan and Tony Saldana for San Angelo.
